Hypertufa Recipes from Suzy Blair's Program Sept. 12

Please note all ingredients are measured by volume, not by weight!

Very Easy Basic Recipe
1 Part Portland cement
1 Part Sifted Peat Moss
1 Part Perlite
1 Part Water

Throughly mix the dry ingredients and slowly add the water until the mixture resembles cookie dough. Adding too much water will weaken the finished product. Pour into a well oiled mold. Project will harden in 24 hours, remove from mold set aside. Cures well in the rain! It does take weeks or even months to fully cure. I have had no problems planting immediately.

Draped Cloth Pots Recipe
2 parts Portland Cement
1/4 part sifted peat moss
1 Hand full of Perlite
1 Hand full of Sand
1 Part water.

Mix dry ingredients throughly, add water and mix well. Immerse a very damp cloth until saturated, wring out and repeat 3 times. Center the dripping cloth on plastic covered form. Remove from form after 24 hours - stand draped pots upright and let them dry another 24 hours.

Modern Stool/Plant Stand Recipe
6 Parts Portland Cement
1 Part Sand
2+ Parts Water

Mix cement and sand throughly, add water until mixture resembles cottage cheese. Pour into well oiled round bucket or tall pot. Place 3 dowels of equal length into vessel 1 inch from the bottom. Wait 20 hours and release.
